  • Vehicle Fire - Blandford St Mary

    5:55pm - Our crew from Blandford Fire Station were called to a car fire in Blandford St Mary this evening. The fire started in the engine bay, involving the battery, so Firefighters had to isolate the battery and used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish. The crew then continued to work on making the vehicle safe.

  • Assist Other Agency - Bournemouth

    A crew from Springbourne Fire Station assisted ambulance crews with the extrication of a casualty from the first floor.

  • Persons Locked In - Westlea

    A Crew from Stratton Fire Station used small tools to release a person who had become locked in the bedroom due to an issue with the lock.

  • Fire Domestic - Bratton

    A crew from Warminster were mobilised to a report of a smell of burning in a domestic property in Bratton. Crews discovered a small fire involving electrics in a garage, which fortunately was out on arrival.

  • Agricultural Fire - Affpuddle

    Dorchester, Wareham and Poole were mobilised to a report of a fire involving a Telehandler. Crews used 2 hose reels to extinguish the fire.

  • Commercial building roof fire

    We were called at 1.39am this morning (6th May) to reports of a fire affecting the roof of two commercial buildings in Copyhold Lane, Winterbourne Abbas. Firefighters from Dorchester attended and quickly requested support. At the height of the incident, seven fire engines and one specialist aerial ladder platform was in attendance (approx. 35 firefighters). Crews used three hose reels and two ground monitors to extinguish the fire. At this time we are unable to establish a cause due to the amount of damage at the scene.

  • Commercial building roof fire

    At 15.26 firefighters were called to East Road, Bridport after reports of a roof fire in a commercial premises. On arrival firefighters quickly requested support and we currently have six fire engines and one aerial ladder platform at this incident (approx. 30 firefighters). The fire was extinguished using breathing apparatus and hose reels to dampen down. Local residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed and traffic on the nearby a35 was slow moving due to the incident, people are asked to drive with care.

  • Heath fire - Bourne Valley nature reserve, Poole

    5:51pm - Crews from Westbourne and Poole were called to a sighting of smoke at Bourne Valley Nature Reserve, Poole. When the crews arrived they found a large area of gorse alight and requested backup from 2 further appliances from Poole Fire Station. Firefighters worked quickly and effectively to surround the 25meter blaze to contain it from spreading any further, and are continuing to dampen the area until safe.
